Ready made resources for end-of-term activities
Back in May, Global Action Plan launched our Climate Chaos Response Toolkit to help teachers and school leaders navigate the school strikes. We've hand-picked 3 activities from it - a Toolkit Taster - for teachers to use in the run up to the end of the summer term to turn students' passion for the environment into postiive action.
The next School Strike for Climate is Friday 20 September - we know that September is a busy time of year for schools, so the Toolkit Taster offers a chance to get ahead by planning for it now and harnessing the student energy and enthusiasm by enabling them to get their voices heard.
Coming this September - an exciting digital platform for teachers
With the help of a passionate community of teachers, we are launching a new resource: an online platform called Transform our World which will make teaching about the environment easy, effective and exciting.
From the launch in September, teachers will only need to go to one place to find high quality, low prep, curriculum-linked student challenges covering the broad spectrum of environmental topics from a wide range of organisations. There will be many opportunities for students to make impactful change happen from meetings with businesses to being given the chance to present visions of the future to policy leaders as well as a fantastic array of teacher reviewed resources. This new platform and the energy it will generate can raise the profile of environmental action across the whole school and allow teachers to be the inspiration the next generation needs to take on the challenge of healing our planet.
