The Eco Show has been developed in partnership with Moving Sounds. It seeks to present some of the causes and consequences of climate change and the broader ecological issues in a fun and entertaining way.
Moving Sounds incorporates elements of theatre, clowning and plenty of music and rap. Different characters present different opinions and dilemmas. Topics explored include energy use, global foot printing, oil consumption, and alternative energy sources - solutions are sought from the audience. The show invites plenty of participation and draws on the knowledge of the group.
Following the performance, Moving Sounds holds a discussion of the issues raised and uses this to help develop the group's own creative work and performance.
An interactive workshop translates the children's enthusiasm into practical action. The performance and workshops last half a day and are ideal for children ages 7-14.
"The actual subject was pretty deep. The joining in bits were brilliant and the activities were really ace"Terence Lennon, student, Castle Rushen High School, Isle of Man
