Engaging a new generation
The findings of a survey of 16-24 year-olds in England taken in May 2009 was revealing about young peoples’ attitudes to climate change.
The evidence shows they are willing to take action and to potentially volunteer to make a difference.
- Over three quarters (88%) surveyed recognised that climate change will have an impact upon their lives within the next 50 years
- Three-quarters (75%) surveyed felt that it is important for them as an individual to do something about climate change
- Three quarters (73%) were interested in becoming a volunteer on climate change projects

Climate Squad is a v partnership volunteering programme with Global Action Plan and Bank of America that seeks to engage 3,000 young people in climate change related projects in local communities across Britain.
